Mwami and Mchinji (Malawi)

Mwami is in Chipata District, Eastern Province, 24 km from Chipata ². The WFP Logistics Cluster lists it as the Mwami and Mchinji one-stop border post on the Nacala Corridor ². ZRA manages the post and uses the ASYCUDA World system. A Trade Information Desk Officer works on site ².

Passenger traffic runs 24 hours. Cargo runs 06:00 to 18:00, Monday to Sunday ². WFP puts traffic at about 30 trucks a day, with maize, clinker and cement going out and vehicles and footwear coming in ². Small food imports under US$2,000 may enter duty-free under the Simplified Trade Regime, subject to origin rules ².

Sesheke and Katima Mulilo (Namibia)

This crossing in Sesheke District, Western Province, links to Katima Mulilo over the Katima Mulilo Bridge ³. WFP calls it the main border on the Walvis Bay-Ndola-Lubumbashi Development Corridor ³.

WFP says 24-hour operation started in August 2023. It notes a 22:00 night travel ban for trucks on the Zambian side ³. A one-stop border post is being finalised, with no completion date given ³. Processing takes 15 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on traffic ³.

Victoria Falls and Kariba (Zimbabwe)

The Victoria Falls crossing uses the historic bridge near Livingstone, 10 km from the border point ¹. WFP lists it as open 24 hours and names the Department of Immigration, ZRA and the Road Development Agency, which runs a weighbridge ¹. Heavy bulk cargo is barred from 18:00 to 06:00 ¹. The post is mainly used by tourists, light vehicles and light commercial cargo ¹.

Kariba crosses the dam wall in Siavonga District, 182 km from Lusaka ⁴. WFP lists hours of 06:00 to 18:00 and names ZRA and the Department of Immigration ⁴. Buses and heavy vehicles have faced suspensions, some indefinite. WFP points to the 24-hour Chirundu OSBP as the alternative ⁴.

Mokambo and Sakania (DRC)

Mokambo is in Mufulira District, 15 to 20 km from Mufulira ⁵. WFP lists 06:00 to 20:00 in one table and 06:00 to 18:00 for commercial traffic elsewhere on the same page ⁵. It names Jasworld Port Limited as partner under a 22-year concession and says only one licensed clearing agent works there ⁵. Truck traffic was historically about 25 a day ⁵.

Sakania is 24 km from Ndola ⁶. WFP says an OSBP there was over 50 percent complete in early 2026, with full completion on track for August 2026 ⁶. A combined target of at least 500 trucks a day across Kasumbalesa, Mokambo and Sakania was agreed in January 2025 ⁶. Toll fees on the Ndola to Sakania road from January 2026 run from K20 for small vehicles to K300 for heavy vehicles ⁶.

Fees and clearing

WFP lists US$100 per foreign-registered truck and ZMW 196 per Zambian truck at Mokambo ⁵. Drivers at Victoria Falls, Kariba and Sakania face a carbon emissions charge and road access fees, with no amounts given ^1,4 ⁶. Pre-clearance on ASYCUDA World at least 5 days before arrival has been mandatory for commercial goods since 1 May 2024, according to WFP ³. ZRA's official site carries its online payment service ⁷.
